Jacopo Di Cera

Born in Milan in 1981, Jacopo Di Cera began his career in communication before devoting himself fully to art in Rome.
He studied photography with leading international masters, winning a National Geographic award in 2010.
In 2016 he developed a new artistic language he defines as Photomaterialism, introduced with the project Fino alla Fine del Mare, dedicated to migration and the boats of Lampedusa.
The project gained wide acclaim and was exhibited at major institutions and fairs including Paris Photo Fair, PAN Naples, Mia Photo Fair Milan, Les Rencontres d’Arles, Paratissima Turin, and Atelier Photo Geneva.
In 2017 he exhibited at the Venice Art Biennale and the Arsenale, as a guest aboard Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Edipo Re, earning international visibility.
He later created Il Rumore dell’Assenza, on the Amatrice earthquake, and MiRo (Milano-Roma), an eight-year social study on commuting.
From 2017, Di Cera has explored new technologies such as drone photography, developing Sospesi, a humanistic journey across Italy.
Since 2020 he has embraced digital art with projects like Infinity, showcased in Rome, Milan, and at international events in Miami, New York, Dubai, Lisbon, and Paris.
In 2024 he was selected by the Italian Consulate in Dubai to exhibit at Dubai Art Fair, and in 2025 was commissioned by the fair to create Retreat, the main installation addressing Climate Change.
His photographic and digital works are featured in major galleries and private collections in Italy and abroad.

Human Evolution

A moving humanity crosses the border between two worlds: the white, uncertain future of snow and the rough, worn past of earth.
The top-down perspective erases hierarchy, placing everyone on the same level.
In the video, the flow is endless — a ceaseless procession symbolizing collective evolution between what we leave behind and what lies ahead.
In the still frame, the shadow remains — a trace, an echo of the soul.
An artwork that speaks of time, journey, and our fragile sense of direction.
