Simone Fugazzotto (Milan, 1983) is an Italian painter known for his distinctive visual language, centered entirely on the figure of the chimpanzee as a metaphor for humanity.
After completing his artistic studies in Milan and spending time training and working in New York, he developed a pictorial poetics that explores themes of identity, fragility, and human contradiction.
The chimpanzee becomes his universal alter ego — a being that, while not human, perfectly mirrors our emotions, fears, irony, and desires.
Fugazzotto does not paint animals; he paints humanity through the image of the ape — a poetic and critical lens inviting introspection and reflection on the absurdity and beauty of our behavior.
He has taken part in socially relevant projects, including the “No Racism” campaign commissioned by Italy’s Serie A League, which sparked public debate.
His works have been exhibited internationally — from Milan to New York, Paris to Prague — in collaboration with galleries and major art institutions.
He currently lives and works between Milan and other cities around the world, continuing to explore, through his chimpanzees, the intricate theater of the human soul.
An intimate journey into faith as a human act — not religious but vital: the belief that even what seems impossible can be achieved through sacrifice, determination, and courage.
The short film explores the tension toward greatness and the overcoming of one’s limits, telling the story of the strength to believe in the journey, even when the outcome remains uncertain.
