Gucci’s new art walls are on air

Gucci is pleased to announce a new initiative in collaboration with Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal. Monreal, who recently collaborated on the Gift Giving Gucci campaign creating images collected in a book, has already created Art Walls for the Gucci Bloom fragrance and Gucci glasses.

The collaboration continues with the realization of the Spring/Summer 2018 advertising campaign, which will now also be depicted on the already known Art Walls of New York and Milan, and in mid-February it will debut on a new wall in Hong Kong. The new images of these murals stage Monreal’s surreal and dreamlike style.

The Art Wall of New York depicts the portrait of two women with the latest model of Gucci glasses, while that of Milan, made by Urban Vision, European leader in sponsored restorations, presents a work inspired by the couple of the famous painting of 1434 by Jan van Eyck, ‘Portrait of the Arnolfini Spouses’ and ‘The Garden of Delights’ (1490-1500) by Hieronymus Bosch. The murals will be visible for about two months.

The project will use the 232 sqm wall in Lafayette Street, in the SoHo district of New York, and the 176 sqm wall in Largo la Foppa, in the pedestrian area of Corso Garibaldi in Milan, walls that now serve as “canvases” for regular collaborations between the Maison and the artists.
